The Aftermath

I don't think it has quite hit me that Boog is now a three year old. And oddly enough, he actually does look different. He looks taller, thinner and just...three. If that makes any sense.

He's been playing, off and on, throughout the morning in his pop up tent. It was too long to keep all of it out, so we put up one of the tent sections, sort of like a replacement if a tunnel or the other one gets destroyed at some point. I figured I'd blog about his party while he's watching Yo Gabba Gabba, since they are the same two episodes that we watched for the past two days....

I can't believe how generous everyone was with gifts, cards and birthday wishes, considering the entire party was of adults with the exception of the Birthday Boy. From Mommy and Daddy, he got a pop-up play tent, Toy Story jammies, Toy Story hooded towel, Toy Story sippy cups, Toy Story color wonder markers/paper, Toy Story book with a mini magnadoodle, two monster trucks to add to his other two he has. From his Nana and Pap, he got a new Woody doll which replaced the one they bought him for his birthday last year (batteries were dead and it doesn't take normal batteries), Toy Story spoon/fork set as well as a Toy Story sectioned plate. From Avis, his ot therapist, he got Spongebob sticker/coloring book, McDonalds pretend food set, and sidewalk chalk. From Sarah, our care coordinator with EI, he got a folding Buzz Lightyear chair, bubbles and crayons with a Spongebob coloring book. He also got $10 from our friend Kenny, a gift card (I'm guessing $10) from our friend Don and then he also got $50 in gift cards for Game Stop from another friend (who thought we had a wii-so I told Mr he can have them and just give Dillon the cash as a replacement). My aunt and uncle sent $50 to him also for his birthday. I gave him $10 for the gift card he got (if it's more I'll give him the difference) and then I rolled his piggy bank money this morning.

Can you believe his piggy bank had $144.50 in it?! Not including the $50 game stop gift cards and the $50 from my aunt and uncle. I rolled the change and counted the bills out then put it all in a baggy. I'm going to the bank this week and opening him a savings account in his name and he'll be starting out with $244.50!! Not bad for being three years old, I'd say. I've decided once a year we'll take his piggy bank money to the bank and deposit it. He should build up quite a collection of money between my purses loose change and earning money for helping around the house. I'm really excited, $244 should earn interest nicely!

I'm really happy he had such a good birthday! He was so excited with every gift he opened, he'd exclaim "whoaaaa" and his eyes would get huge. I took a ton of photos and posted them on my Facebook page for friends and family back home. I can't wait until his birthday next year...maybe we can take him to Chuck E Cheese or something fun like that or even rent a bouncey house. He'll have friends from pre-school so it will probably be more fun with other kids to celebrate and play with.
