Today was not one of my best, I have to admit. Well, everything was fine until the afternoon anyway.
Pregnancy this time around is absolutely exhausting. Mentally, physically, emotionally. Add raising a toddler with Autism and you can imagine the exhaustion I feel.
Speaking of my son, Dillon (aka Boog or Dilly), he has been doing so well with his speech as of late. I could not be any more proud if I tried or wanted to be. He is trying to say new words and working on perfecting the words he knows, he's absolutely amazing. We are so lucky his Autism is extremely mild and aside from a few quirky things he does, his speech is the only major issue. He will hopefully be accepted and started Sp.Ed preschool soon. The sooner, the better. I hope at least by November 1st. He has to be 3 years old in order to start school, which his birthday is a week from tomorrow. It's scary how fast time has flown by...three years felt like nothing. Like the blink of an eye.
There are only 25 days until we find out if Dilly will have a little brother or little sister. We aren't even discussing names until we find out the gender. I do have a few in mind and Mr hasn't disagreed to the boy name. We shall see I suppose. Mr wants a girl, I would be equally happy with a boy or a girl. We only plan to have two children so one of each would be pretty cool, but boys really are so much fun! With Boog, I found out at 18 weeks 3 days, but since I am getting OB care at a military hospital I have to be at least 20 weeks. I'll be 20 weeks 3 days at my ultrasound. The past 17 weeks have gone by so fast, but the days seem to drag.
I had a meltdown this afternoon, well more like early evening. Mr was telling me about the people coming to the poker game he is holding after Boog's birthday get together, I wish he showed that kind of excitement when it came to Dillon's birthday or gift shopping. I don't care that I spent my money buying all of his gifts, but it kind of bothers me he didn't want to help pick anything out. He's always been like that and I just don't understand it...maybe it's a man thing? I have told him I wish he'd be involved more with that kind of stuff and I hope that he will help pick out Dillon's Christmas gifts when the time comes.
Christina,
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel about your husband not getting excited about picking out gifts. Mine is the same way. I do think it is a "man thing." We women are more sentimental and make a bigger production of things like that, but it bothers me, too, and our kids are 22 and 26! hang in there. A lot of it is hormones, too.
I love your blog and will check it out so i can keep track of what is going on with the baby, Dilly and you!
