Found Dog, Dillon and A New Word!

I was checking the mail this afternoon and saw a cute little dog wandering around. He has a collar, but no tags (which is just stupid on the owner's part). I called the resident office and asked if they could bring over a porter to hold him in until he is picked up tomorrow by Humane Society and I also reported him to the security office incase anyone calls about him missing, which I doubt will happen. Humane Society is scheduled for pick up between 7 and 2, I hope that means they'll come bright and early. They should keep my name on a post it on a board or something (along with my address and number) because this is the third animal pick up they've done for me. The first two times were kittens that were at our back door. One had a chip but wasn't claimed and the other was too young for a chip but likely adopted. I hope this guy has a chip and is claimed, he's so sweet and friendly. I'm unsure of the breed but he's small with shaved hair except long on the ears and end of his tail.

Dilly's last ot session was cancelled for today so I was relieved he could get a nap this afternoon! I wanted to take one but with this found dog situation it's unlikely. So we went to the store this morning to get a few things and some chicken for Mr's dinner (he works tonight). They had none when I grocery shopped a few days ago. Well Dillon and I were getting out of the car when we got there and I asked him if he was ready to go in and he said een (in) and it was so exciting! A new word!! I am so proud of him, there are no words. He also said two words that he hasn't said in quite some time, hep (help) and eee (eat). He was extra well behaved in the store, so I got him a happy meal for lunch. Oh how he loves his Bahdie (McDonalds). He can't really say m's other than when he says mom or mama. For example, more is boh and movie is booeee. I'm just excited he said a new word!

Speaking of Boog, this week is Special Education week. I saw a friend on Facebook with this small tribute sentance to children who have special needs and how all children want to be accepted just as adults do. It was a small honor to children who were made in a unique way and learn a little differently than the rest. I, of course, made that my status this morning on Facebook also. As a mother of a special needs child, I love my son more than anything in the world. He is absolutely amazing and I could not be any more proud of him if I tried. Even if you are not a parent of a special needs child, accept who they are if you see or know someone who is. They shouldn't be treated any differently because of being special needs. No one should judge anyone else and especially not a child. They have feelings too.
